The soap star insisted recent reports she was dating Manchester United footballer Danny Simpson were untrue and claimed that she never wants to sponge off a man's success or finances.
She told the Daily Star: "I’m sexy and single. I’m definitely not a WAG!
"Danny is just a mate. We had been out with all our mates when the photographer took a picture of me giving him a kiss goodbye. I couldn’t believe it when I saw that we were being linked together."
On the subject of WAGs, Pallet said: "I hate the term. It’s so derogatory, I have no idea why women would aspire to be one.
"Fair enough for people like Cheryl Cole and Victoria Beckham - they have their own careers and fell in love with a person regardless of their profession.
"But when girls go to nightclubs just to seek out footballers, it’s degrading, it’s sad. They need to get an identity and a job of their own."
She added: "If I ever have a husband I will not be waiting for handouts or pocket money."
