Simpson 'couldn't be happier' for sister

Jessica Simpson has claimed that she "couldn't be happier" about her sister's engagement to Pete Wentz.

The singer-turned-actress said the pair were a perfect match and that Ashlee was currently "overflowing" with emotions.

Jessica said: "My sister is overflowing with joy. Pete is an incredible soul. They naturally bring out the best in each other. I couldn't be happier."

Ashlee Simpson announced her engagement to the Fall Out Boy rocker earlier this week, stating she was "thrilled".

Jessica Simpson got married at the age of 22 to Nick Lachey, though the pair split in 2005 and finalised their divorce in 2006.

She is currently dating Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo.
