Gordon Ramsay has claimed next year's London Marathon will be his last.

The celebrity chef completed the 26-mile circuit of central London yesterday in three hours and 45 minutes. It was his ninth consecutive appearance on the charity run.

Ramsay, who raised cash for various charities, claimed the support he received on the run was "fantastic".

He told the Daily Star: "I always said I'd do ten for the charities, so next year is the last one.

"There were thousands of people who came out - they were fantastic. As I was coming over Tower Bridge, someone shouted, 'Run, fat boy, run' - I don't know if they were talking to me."

Other celebrities who took part in the race included Big Brother contestant Kate Lawler, actor Jonny Lee Miller and Britain's Got Talent star Amanda Holden.
