Cruise, Beckham plan soccer team purchase?

David Beckham and Tom Cruise are considering buying a football team, the Daily Express claims.

The England international and the Hollywood star are reportedly interested in owning a club together but haven't decided whether it will be in the UK or US.

A source revealed: "David has often spoken of his desire to concentrate on his youth football academies rather than a career in management when he retires from the game.

"Perhaps a high profile soccer venture with a Hollywood superstar would also give him back some of the credibility he surely feels he lost after leaving prestigious Real Madrid for a megabucks deal in the US."

Beckham moved to US club LA Galaxy last year in a deal reported to be worth £126 million ($250 million).
