Moby regrets opening tea shop

Moby has admitted that his attempt to run a New York tea shop was a "bad idea".

The musician opened vegetarian cafe TeaNY in 2002, offering 98 blend of loose leaf tea including 'Lover's Leap Ceylon', 'Smoky Russian Caravan' and 'Hairy Crab Oolong'.

However, his lack of business skills soon became glaringly obvious. "I learned that I'm a terrible businessman," he told DS. "When public figures think they can open a business even though they've got no business experience, it's a bad idea."

Moby has since given up his involvement in TeaNY, but he refused to rule out a return to the hospitality trade.

"If I was to open anything else, it would be a sleazy dive bar," he said. "The thing with bars is that people drink when they're happy and they drink when they're sad. You're never going to get rich opening a dive bar, but the chances of failure aren't that great either."
