
The singer admitted that she only managed to finish working on her follow-up record thanks to the efforts of her manager Ian Brown.
Thom told the Daily Star: "I partied too much on the road. I can be a bit of a fiend and bit too naughty after a few drinks.
"When you’re young you dream of having success, but when you actually get there it’s one big piss-up.
"Ian had to sit me down and say to me: 'You can’t get pissed every night like this.' It suddenly became clear I had to stop."
She added: "He had toured with Happy Mondays but apparently a couple of big nights we had in France were worse than them."
However, the 'I Wish I Was A Punk Rocker' musician claimed that her wild lifestyle proved useful when it came to writing new tunes.
"There’s a song on my new album called 'Saturday Night' about partying hard," commented Thom. "It’s also about going out on a Saturday, which is purely a British phenomenon."
