Tom Cruise making return to 'Oprah'

Tom Cruise will return to The Oprah Winfrey Show for the first time since his infamous couch-jumping appearance, The Associated Press reports.

Winfrey's two-part show will mark the 25th anniversary of Cruise's breakthrough role in Risky Business. Friends and former co-stars will provide taped tributes to honour his film work.

The Cruise specials, which will cover the actor's "family, his life and the future" are to air on May 2 and May 5 in the US.

Cruise last appeared on the show in 2005 to promote War of the Worlds, and his emphatic declaration of love for Katie Holmes led to countless parodies and punchlines at the star's expense.
