Aussie Catholics criticise Ramsay

The Catholic church in Australia has criticised Gordon Ramsay for his bad language.

The Catholic Archdiocese of Adelaide, in a submission to a Senate inquiry on swearing on television, called for tighter broadcasting regulations.

"Young and impressionable viewers, in particular, can easily be drawn into adopting a pattern of speech amongst their peers that emulates what they hear on television," said the Church.

"This is particularly so when the character using bad language is something of a hero figure, as is the case with Gordon Ramsay."

The submission gives the example of an F Word episode featuring strong sexual swear words and a reference to a chef as a "French pig".
