Laverne propositioned by rock legend

Lauren Laverne has admitted that her husband was not impressed when she was propositioned by a rock star.

The DJ, who presents The Culture Show for the BBC, said the musician invited her to his hotel suite after they met for work.

She told Teletext: "I'd just interviewed the legend - he has big hair and Spandex.

"He told his manager to leave his card with me. My husband [TV producer Graeme Fisher] found the card and asked why it said 'Suite No 9 The Dorchester' on the back."

She added: "I had to do some explaining!"

The couple married in August 2005 and welcomed first child Fergus last October.
