Johansson laughs off lift sex rumours

Scarlett Johansson has brushed off rumours that she had sex in a lift with actor Benicio Del Toro.

The actress was reported to have slept with Del Toro at LA's Chateau Marmont after the 2004 Oscars ceremony.

Johansson claimed the news circulated after she made a joke, which was then taken out of context by a journalist.

"I never had sex with Benicio Del Toro in an elevator," she told OK!. "It was a sarcastic quote that I unfortunately gave to a journalist and it was taken out of context."

She added: "If you've ever been to the Chateau Marmont elevator, you'll know you can barely stand, let alone do anything like that. But I'm not one for sex in public places - save it for the bedroom."
