'ER' star loves 'McSexy' nickname

ER star John Stamos has revealed that he loves his 'McSexy' nickname.

The actor, who plays Dr. Tony Gates on the US medical drama, said he is happy with his heartthrob status.

He told Parade: "It's a tough job but somebody has to do it. And who wouldn't want to get passionate with Linda Cardellini (Samantha Taggart)?"

Stamos, 44, has been acting since his late teens and is best known for playing Jesse in sitcom Full House. However, he said he has never been enough of a household name to experience the downside of success.

He said: "More than half of my life I've had people kind of knowing who I am. But I haven't been so big that it's been impossible to leave my house or that I have the paparazzi chasing me.

"I'm famous enough to get a nice table at a restaurant but I don't get mobbed. People go, 'Isn't it horrible having someone want your picture?' And I'm like, 'No way. It's great'."

Stamos recently rejected the chance to star in an ER spinoff featuring his character.
