Tina Turner has insisted that Amy Winehouse must overcome her personal problems to save her career.

The singer, who recently announced four live UK tour dates, spoke of her admiration for Winehouse but urged the troubled star to "help herself".

Turner said: "Her problems started before the success and that is the problem. This girl's voice is wonderful, timeless. If she wants to help herself... of course she can and she must."

Winehouse recently avoided facing drugs charges over a video that reportedly showed her taking crack cocaine and Ecstasy.
