Sex And The City stylist Patricia Field has signed a deal to design a fashion range for Marks & Spencer.

The one-off line, to include "iconic womenswear and matching accessories", will be available in stores in October.

Field, who has also worked on Ugly Betty and movie The Devil Wears Prada, described the range as "Destination Style New York".

She said in a statement: "It's just amazing to be working with such an iconic brand as M&S. The Patricia Field for M&S Collection will be a unique chance to make New York's hottest styles part of every woman's wardrobe.

"It embodies the splashy and exuberant lifestyle that I have consistently created in my work with such superstars as Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Lucy Liu or Meryl Streep."

The collaboration is the first time the high street chain has worked with a designer on a one-off line.
