They think it's all over... it is now

As the players began to act more irreverently, play sped up, meaning we were done by 8:30pm, the original scheduled end of the day. As they got more and more tired and less and less bothered about the golf, amusing moments such as Meat Loaf singing along to his own hits when coming in the Hummer with Colin Montgomerie to the 18th green occurred. Alice Cooper stole a pink hat off a lady in the crowd and proceeded to wear it until the end of his round, passing it on to Michael Johnson, Damian Lewis and Jodie Kidd in turn. Kidd also wore a policeman's hat for the final couple of rounds. It didn't seem to do her any good, as she shanked on the 17th, almost hitting a member of the public!
At the end of the day, almost everyone seemed to have given up on playing any serious golf. Bruce Forsyth was named the player of the tournament, possibly due to his winning shot for Europe earlier in the day, which pushed them past the necessary 90 point mark. Jane Seymour achieved best shot of the tournament for her unexpected hole on the first day, whilst Alice Cooper (who I personally think should have got player of the tournament, but don't tell ITV) won best putt. A well deserved prize for an amazing golfer. I have been told by Celtic Manor employees that Cooper actually plays at Celtic Manor on a regular basis, flying in from his home in Arizona, so it's not too big a surprise that he did very well on the course during the Cup!
A long evening ended with Ant and Dec playing a game of 'who can hit the ball closest to the pin?', with Dec emerging victorious. However, the pair decided to split the £10,000 the winner had to donate to charity (which, in response to Michael, Aberdeen, I don't believe was ever actually named!). A slightly anti-climatic end to the tournament, in all honesty.
My stint in the media centre and wandering around the enormous course has now come to an end, and I know that I'll enjoy sinking into my bed tonight, spent both energy-wise and of words! I'm afraid that concludes the coverage of the All*Star cup from the Celtic Manor resort as it's...well, finished! Hope you've enjoyed reading!
