The singer met several members of the Democrat presidential candidate's staff at Capitol Hill last week.
A representative for the Latino popstar told People: "Tuesday afternoon, Ms. Lopez was on the Hill with her sister to meet with staff of several senators to discuss issues she's interested in, such as healthcare and education.
"She did visit Obama's office but the Senator wasn't there. She did not meet him, but did discuss healthcare with members of his staff."
A spokesperson for Obama commented: "She just came in for the meeting and departed. It was not campaign-related."
Actress Scarlett Johnasson revealed last week that she regularly exchanges emails with Obama.
