Rooney: 'I nearly cried when I saw Coleen'

Wayne Rooney has admitted that he nearly cried when he saw bride Coleen McLoughlin at their wedding.

The footballer said he struggled to keep his emotions in check during last week's ceremony in Portofino, Italy.

He told OK!: "It was weird when I first saw her. It’s such a big moment. I felt really choked. I thought she looked so stunning."

McLoughlin added: "I was just nervous about whether Wayne would like my dress. But luckily he said I looked lovely."
