Morgan 'apologised to McCartney over Mills'

Piers Morgan has revealed that he apologised to Sir Paul McCartney for introducing him to Heather Mills.

The Britain's Got Talent judge claimed that McCartney met his ex-wife through him, but insisted that he was unaware that she would turn out to be a "grasping, gold-digging little bimbo".

Morgan told US radio host Howard Stern: "I was fooled into thinking that she was a good person... I'm not sure if Paul knew she was missing a leg at the time."

McCartney and Mills's divorce was finalised earlier this year, with the model receiving £24.3 million of her ex-husband's fortune.

The pair share custody of four-year-old daughter Beatrice.
