Friends and family are reportedly hoping Amy Winehouse will take her illness as a chance to give up drugs.

The singer has been in hospital since fainting at home on Monday and, though she has been cleared of tuberculosis, her illness has yet to be diagnosed.

"Doctors still aren’t sure what is wrong with her so she must give them more time," a source close to Winehouse told The Sun. "Hopefully she will stay in long enough to clean herself up.

"It’s approaching a week since she’s taken drugs. It’s the first time we’ve been able to say that in ages.

"This could be her chance to get herself off this stuff which is killing her. If she goes back on stage she will probably get back into bad habits."
