Leslie questioned over rape allegations

John Leslie has been arrested on suspicion of rape, The Sun reports.

Scotland Yard confirmed that a man in his 40s was questioned over allegations of rape and sexual assault from 1995. He was later released on bail.

A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said: "Officers are investigating an allegation of rape and indecent assault on a woman dating from November 1995.

"At approximately 7pm this evening a man aged in his 40s attended a London police station by appointment and was arrested in connection with the inquiry.

"He was interviewed and bailed pending further inquiries to a date in late August."

The former Blue Peter presenter was acquitted of two counts of indecent assault on an actress in 2003.
