The Jolie-Pitt Foundation has given the funds to the Education Partnership for Children of Conflict [EPCC], reports People.
Half of the donation will go to the Armed Service YMCA Operation Hero Programme, while the rest will help groups that deal with women and children struggling to survive in Iraq.
It is believed 5,700 Iraqi children and 300 women will benefit from the funds.
"These educational support programmes for children of conflict are the best way to help them heal," commented Jolie, who co-founded the EPCC in 2007.
Pitt added: "We hope to encourage others to give to these great organisations."
