Katona confirms stepfather's ashes keepsake

Kerry Katona's PR man has confirmed reports that she is carrying her stepfather's ashes around her neck in a crucifix.

Max Clifford said that the special pendant is an ideal way for Kerry to remember Arnold Ferrier, who she regarded as her real dad.

78-year-old Ferrier passed away at his home in Texas last month following a short battle with cancer.

Katona purchased identical pendants for Ferrier's three biological children while she was out in the States for his cremation.

"They are tiny little gold crucifixes that Kerry bought in America," Clifford told The Mirror. "There is a place on the back that you can unscrew so she could place a tiny amount of Arnie's ashes inside.

"Arnie wanted half his ashes to be left in Texas and half in the UK, so Kerry only took a small amount as a keepsake for his children.

"She wears it all the time now. She just thought she would do everything she could, he was the only real dad she ever had. She wanted to pay her respects with her own personal tribute. It was her way of giving everyone something to remind them of him. All she wanted was to make sure her father had the best send off possible."
