Madonna's 'love rival' goes on spending spree

The woman who is accusing Madonna of wrecking her marriage has reportedly tried to cheer herself up with a £50,000 spending spree.

Cynthia Rodriguez is said to believe that the Queen of Pop stole her husband Alex, who plays for the New York Yankees baseball team.

Following her marriage breakdown, Cynthia travelled with her family to Paris, where she has splashed out on "lavish spa treatments, expensive meals and first class flights for the family", according to the New York Daily News.

Friends of sportsman Alex have also complained about Cynthia's decision to hire a massive legal team as she prepares for her divorce.

One source told the newspaper: "She needs four lawyers in two different states? That's not the dream team, it's the greed team."

Madonna has denied having any involvement in the couple's split.
