Barat seeks advice from Russell Brand?

Singer Carl Barat is seeking advice from Russell Brand about keeping off alcohol, say reports.

The Dirty Pretty Things frontman, who was taken to hospital with acute pancreatitis last month, is trying to arrange a date with the comedian.

"The two of us will have to get together for a sober night out," he told The Sun. "Russell sips water, but I have to have Diet Coke."

Commenting on his recent medical problems, Barat said: "It was scary. I was in constant pain, but it has tested me and given me more time to think.

"Mornings are a lot easier. I can think things through properly."
