Murphy skips 'Meet Dave' premiere

Eddie Murphy has failed to show at the premiere of his latest movie Meet Dave.

Murphy plays the two lead roles in the children's sci-fi adventure, but chose not to attend the screening in LA on Tuesday.

The actor is currently working on comedy drama A Thousand Words with director Brian Robbins.

"He's not here because he's doing a movie and shooting - he goes back-to-back-to-back," producer David T. Friendly told People.

"Eddie, he'll never admit it, but he loves to work. And I think work keeps him happy."

Meet Dave opens in the UK on July 18.
