Julianne Moore has admitted that she does not understand the appeal of Botox.

The 47-year-old revealed to The Guardian that some of her acting contemporaries do not look any younger after having the treatment.

She said: "I don't know why women do Botox. It doesn't make them look younger, it just makes them look like they had work done. You are not going to look the same as you did at 25. What are you going to do about it?"

The actress added that Hollywood stars were driven to undergo the injections after seeing themselves projected on to huge cinema screens.

"It's hard for actresses. Our faces get to be blown up 50ft wide and you see stuff that otherwise you wouldn't. People freak out," she noted.
