Ethan Hawke marries girlfriend

Ethan Hawke has married girlfriend Ryan Shawhughes, his publicist has confirmed.

The pair, who are expecting their first child, tied the knot in a secret ceremony last month.

They sparked rumours of an impending wedding when they were spotted applying for a marriage licence in New York at the beginning of June.

Hawke began dating Shawhughes following his split from wife Uma Thurman in 2004.

She had previously worked as a nanny for the couple's daughter Maya Ray, nine, and son Levon Roan, six.

Thurman recently announced her engagement to Swiss financier Arpad Busson.
