Nicole Richie novel to be adapted for TV

Nicole Richie's 2005 novel The Truth About Diamonds will be adapted for TV.

The socialite revealed that production on the show has already started, adding that she is keen to be involved both on and off camera.

"I would definitely produce and definitely be in the show," she told E!. " [But] I don't know if I need to be the star of this show. I've got a lot going on right now."

Richie's book follows the story of Chloe Parker, the adopted daughter of a musician who ends up running her own club in Hollywood.

She also confirmed that she is working on a follow-up novel, but remained tight-lipped over the subject matter.

"I'm not telling you," she said. "It's not finished."
