Cheeky Girls' mum blames MP for split

The Cheeky Girls' mother Magrit Irimia has said that MP Lembit Opik is troubled by "insecurities".

Magrit's daughter Gabriela split from Opik last week and reportedly hasn't spoken to the politician for two weeks.

According to Magrit, the popstar has felt "pressure" and "stress" because Opik wants to settle down and have children.

"There's a huge gap between them," Magrit told The Mirror. "She doesn't want to be his wife or have a baby. She's not ready to settle down.

"I've always been disturbed by Lembit's insecurity. When you're in a relationship you're supposed to be happy and confident. He never seemed like that."

She added: "Gabriela got a huge number of calls from him to discuss the same thing again and again and is given a hard time when she has to go to work. For now, she's had enough.

"She wants to be left on her own to break free and decide her future."
