Ronnie Wood enters rehab

Rolling Stone Ronnie Wood has gone into rehab for treatment for his drinking problem, his spokeswoman announced today.

The news follows the revelation last week that the guitarist, married for 23 years, had run away with 18-year-old Russian Ekaterina Ivanova.

"Following Ronnie's continued battle with alcohol he has entered a period of rehab," said the spokeswoman. "His close family and friends say he is seeking help and look forward to his recovery."

Wood is a long-time alcoholic and is thought to have spent time in clinics in 2002 and 2006.

His wife Jo said at the weekend: "How do you help an alcoholic? They have to want to get better and they have to want to go to rehab."
