Madonna, Guy 'are too competitive'

Christopher Ciccone has suggested that his sister's marriage to Guy Ritchie may have hit problems because they are too competitive.

Appearing on GMTV to promote his book Life With My Sister Madonna, Ciccone said: "They are two very ambitious and creative people competing. On some level they are going to be competing with each other and if one's doing better…"

He claimed that Ritchie seeing his directing career stall coupled with Madonna's continuing success meant that their marriage was "not as good as [it] could be".

Ciccone, who is estranged from Madonna, added that Ritchie was the first of his sister's partners he did not get along with.

He said: "I don't like him. He's an unpleasant kind of person. We haven't found a way to become friends."
