The pair have been engaged for the last 16 months.
A spokesperson for the actress said: "We are sad to announce that the engagement of Salma Hayek and Francois-Henri Pinault has been cancelled.
"There will be no further comment."
Hayek and Pinault have 10-month-old daughter Valentina Paloma.
