US talkshow host McMahon sues hospital

Longtime US TV host Ed McMahon is suing a Los Angeles hospital which he claims discharged him without spotting a broken neck.

The Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre failed to notice the serious injury and did not carry out an X-ray, according to McMahon, who served as sidekick to talkshow giant Johnny Carson for 30 years.

The action, which the 85-year-old filed with Los Angeles Superior Court, also accuses the hospital of failures in relation to two operations on his spine.

McMahon is facing financial difficulty and has been fighting to keep his multimillion-dollar Beverly Hills home in recent months.
