Bale denies assault allegations

Christian Bale has denied allegations of assault made by family members.

The 34-year-old Batman star was arrested yesterday after his mother and sister reported him to Hampshire police following an alleged incident at London's Dorchester Hotel. He was later bailed and asked to return to the police station in September.

The actor's Los Angeles-based spokeswoman Jennifer Allen told Reuters: "Christian Bale attended a London police station today (Tuesday), on a voluntary basis, in order to assist with an allegation that had been made against him to the police by his mother and sister.

"Mr. Bale, who denies the allegation, co-operated throughout, gave his account in full of the events in question, and has left the station without any charge being made against him by the police."
