Jackman declines to give Kidman advice

Hugh Jackman has refused to give any parenting tips to new mum Nicole Kidman.

Jackman, who co-stars with the actress in the upcoming war epic Australia, has declined to give any advice on how to raise her daughter Sunday Rose.

He said: "I didn't give any advice because anyone who's actually had kids knows there's nothing more annoying than all the advice you get on how to do it.

"You know you're going to stuff it up in some way or other. Actually the best bit of advice was from the guy who delivered the baby, when my first son Oscar was born.

"He came in and the birth happened about two minutes later and as he was leaving he said, 'Congratulations, don't rock the baby.'

"Cut to two weeks later, the baby won't sleep and we're rocking it. That's the only advice I give. Don't rock the baby because you end up spending your life doing it. But I didn't give that to Keith or Nicole."
