Christian Bale requests privacy

Christian Bale has requested privacy following his arrest for allegedly assaulting his mother and sister in London.

The incident reportedly took place at the Dorchester Hotel on Sunday evening. The 34-year-old is on bail until September while police investigate the claims.

Speaking at a press conference in Barcelona, the Dark Knight star said: "I would ask you to respect my privacy in the matter."

He described the event as a "deeply personal matter".

Bale greeted fans and spoke to journalists in Spain yesterday, but refused to comment on the arrest.

A spokesperson for the actor denied the assault allegations earlier this week.
