Ledger's father honouring bar promise

Heath Ledger's father has agreed to honour an investment promise his son made before his death.

The Dark Knight actor signed up to fund the construction of an upmarket New York bar, but the future of the agreement was left uncertain after Ledger passed away.

According to a report in the New York Post, Ledger's father Kim, who has taken over his son's estate, has now decided to support the bar.

A source told the newspaper: "Kim knew how much the project meant to Heath. He released the funds to finish construction."

Ledger died in January following an accidental overdose of prescription medication.
