Sienna Miller has decided to keep a low profile after receiving a backlash over her relationship with Balthazar Getty.

The actress has faced strong criticism in the media since her affair with the married father-of-four was exposed last month. Meanwhile, Balthazar's wife Rosetta has been consulting divorce lawyers and is said to be "devastated" over her husband's behaviour.

Miller fled to New York to spend time with her father Ed last week, after deciding that she could not cope with the intense press scrutiny in the UK.

"Her PR team in the UK had no idea about the affair because she kept it a secret from them," a source told the Daily Mail. "When they tried to do damage limitation, it was too late. They are very worried about the effect this will have on her career."

The insider added: "Sienna is on an option to make two more GI Joe movies, which will make her a fortune, but there is genuine concern about how this negative publicity will affect the promotion around the first movie, which is due to come out next summer."

Getty initially denied being involved with Sienna, but the pair later went public with their romance. Last week, Balthazar finally released a statement to confirm that he is divorcing his wife.
