Kelsey Grammer back in hospital

Kelsey Grammer has been hospitalised in New York two months after nearly dying of a heart attack.

The former Frasier star was found to have an irregular heartbeat after feeling faint on Sunday, according to Entertainment Tonight.

He was forced to pull out of four scheduled TV appearances today to promote new movie Swing Vote, in which he plays the US President. The 53-year-old is expected to remain in hospital until tomorrow for observation.

His spokesman told Us magazine: "Kelsey felt faint so he went to the hospital to have things checked out. They are altering his medications."

Grammer suffered a heart attack while paddle-boarding with wife Camille near their Hawaii home at the end of May. He recently said the pain was "like somebody was actually trying to tear my chest apart with, like, the jaws of life".
