Shia LaBeouf has been cleared of causing a road accident that left him needing "extensive surgery", reports Reuters.

The Indiana Jones actor collided with an oncoming vehicle on Sunday, causing his truck to roll over. Police arrested the 22-year-old on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Steve Whitemore, spokesman for the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, said that the collision was caused by the other vehicle after it failed to stop at a red light and hit LaBeouf's truck.

"LaBeouf has been determined at this stage not to have caused the accident," he said.

Whitemore added that police are waiting for the results from a toxicology report before filing formal charges against LaBeouf.
