Grammer: 'My wife was my rock'

Kelsey Grammer has described third wife Camille as his "rock" after she helped him recover from a heart attack.

The former Frasier star has said he nearly died after falling ill while the couple were paddle-boarding in Hawaii in May.

Grammer, who was hospitalised again last week with a rumoured irregular heartbeat, said: "She's been amazing. She was the rock, she really was the rock. The people that took care of me did a great job and got me back on track."

He added that his illness has reminded him to appreciate his blessings, saying: "Life has been tough enough that honestly, throughout my life I've always really valued the good days. I had a nice reminder of it by virtue of having a heart attack.

"I certainly didn't want to be a statistic who died at 53. If I can have several years ahead of me that I hope are full of life and love and some artistic reward, that's what I value."

Grammer married Camille, a former Playboy model, last year. They have a son and daughter, both born via a surrogate mother.
