Kelsey Grammer has been released from hospital in New York following recent heart problems, Reuters reports.

The Frasier star suffered a near-fatal heart attack in May and was hospitalised at the end of last month after feeling faint. He was found to have an irregular heartbeat.

Stan Rosenfield, a spokesman for the actor, said: "Kelsey Grammer is out of the hospital, feeling great and about to resume normal activities at home. He and his wife Camille want to thank everyone who expressed concern. They appreciated the kind words."

Grammer can next be seen in the political comedy Swing Vote, opening in UK cinemas on September 26.
