Richard Hammond earned £750,000 filming an advert for supermarket chain Morrisons, according to The Sun.

The TV presenter's fee for the commercial, which he filmed over the course of four days, dwarfs the £25,000 per episode he takes home for Top Gear.

A friend of Hammond reportedly said: "This really is ridiculous money. Richard is made up. Supermodels who won't get out of bed for £10,000 a day may want to change careers. He'll no doubt grab himself a couple of fancy new motors for his collection."

Hammond is seen flying from Spain to Britain to endorse Morrisons' meat in the advert, with a spokesman adding: "The shoot was a mixture of location work in Spain and filming at an aerodrome and one of our stores in Berkshire. We never discuss anyone's salary."

Helen Baxendale, Denise Van Outen and BBC football pundit Alan Hansen have previously appeared in Morrisons ads.
