Gallagher: 'I'll tone down my partying'

Rex Features

Liam Gallagher has confessed that he will have to tone down his hellraising antics to preserve his voice.

In an interview with The Times, Gallagher said keeping away from alcohol will help aid his vocal performances when the band's tour kicks off in Seattle, Washington next month.

He said: "Last week me voice was a bag o' s***e, I had to have a word with meself. I want this to be a success, I want this to be great, I thought 'I'm going to have to tone it down a bit'.

"Load of big fat lines, load of cigarettes, staying up late talking the same s**t you talked the night before and the night before that, that's not good for [the voice]. It's not a big deal. I've got willpower."

Gallagher stated that "no-one can touch" his vocal performances when he is on form, but as his worst he is "still better than Pete Doherty".
