Joel Madden: 'I'm a cool father'

Good Charlotte's Joel Madden has claimed that he can "rock and roll" and still be a good father.

The rocker said that he was keeping a successful balance between his family life and his music career.

"I'm a cool dad," Madden told People.

"I can still go out and rock and roll a bit and hang out and deejay, but I'm definitely all about my family. Family first."

Speaking about his 7-month-old daughter Harlow's music taste, he commented: "It really doesn't matter right now. I'll play her lullabies at home."

Madden also revealed that he has no immediate plans to marry his girlfriend Nicole Richie.

"Right now we're happy and everything is great. I'm moving at our own pace," he said. "We kind of do things our own style. So we're happy."
