Ellen DeGeneres marries girlfriend

Ellen DeGeneres has tied the knot with actress girlfriend Portia de Rossi.

The couple married in front of family and friends at their Beverly Hills home on Saturday, their publicist told People.

DeGeneres announced the impending nuptials while filming her US talkshow in May. Her revelation came the day after California's Supreme Court ruled that same-sex couples have the right to marry.

She has been dating the former Ally McBeal star since 2004.
