Elizabeth Taylor released from hospital

Elizabeth Taylor has returned home following a stay in hospital.

A friend of the National Velvet star told People that Taylor had recently been discharged.

"Ms. Taylor is at home and happy - and busier than ever," they said. "She's living her life. She's been having dinner with friends. She's working."

The actress was taken ill last month, with reports claiming that she had suffered congestive heart failure.

However, Taylor's publicist Dick Guttman dismissed the speculation as "dramatic, overstated and untrue", though he refused to confirm why the Oscar winner was admitted to hospital.
