Charlie Sheen and Brooke expecting child

Charlie Sheen and his wife Brooke have confirmed that they are expecting their first child together.

The couple, who wed in May, discovered the news last week, reports People.

A source commented: "Brooke found out for sure on Friday and is thrilled to death. Brooke loves Charlie very much and has wanted a baby for some time."

Sheen already has three children, Sam, 4, Lola, 3, and Cassandra 23, from his relationships with Denise Richards and Paula Profitt.

In a statement, the Hollywood actor said: "Brooke and I are thrilled!

"She's the best stepmom Sam, Lola and Cassandra could ever hope for. Seeing her love and affection with those three, I know she'll be an amazing mum.

"Unless I bat 100 percent, perhaps a boy awaits us."
