Gascoigne misses vital hip check-ups

Bianca Gascoigne has expressed fears that her troubled stepfather Paul could become crippled.

The ex-footballer has been told that he needs a hip operation, but has missed a number of check-ups after fleeing the UK following a row with Bianca's mother Sheryl.

"He has got his hips out of place at the moment," Bianca explained. "He has even got to have an operation on his hip which he skipped but he's having it done soon."

A source told the Daily Star: "Bianca is so worried about this, it is really upsetting her. Despite everything that Gazza has done to her mum, she loves him and as far as she is concerned he is her dad. She knows he just wouldn't be able to cope if he was crippled."

Gascoigne first complained about problems with his hips last year and had an operation at Christmas. As he struggled with his recovery, he began suffering from depression and was subsequently sectioned under the Mental Health Act.

He later checked into rehab a number of times and was discharged after his most recent stint in July. He has since returned to his old boozy lifestyle despite originally vowing to get his life back on track.
