Ritchie: 'Madonna's brother is desperate'

Guy Ritchie has criticised Madonna's brother for releasing a book about the star, describing the decision as "desperate".

Christopher Ciccone's Life With My Sister Madonna was published last month and reportedly left the Queen of Pop "very upset".

At one point in the book, Ciccone accuses Ritchie of being homophobic, but the film director has insisted that his claims have no credibility.

"I don't make anything of the book. The poor chap wrote it out of desperation," Ritchie explained. "I don't think it'd be intelligent to comment on that. I can't give too much equity in what the chap's gonna write in that book.

"But you'd be hard pushed to be a homophobe and marry Madonna."

Madge kicked off her new Sticky & Sweet world tour in Cardiff at the weekend.
