Townsend, Theron 'have no plans to marry'

Stuart Townsend has admitted that he and actress girlfriend Charlize Theron have no plans to get married.

Speaking to E! Online at the premiere of his film Battle In Seattle, Townsend distanced himself from comments made by Theron, who previously stated that she would get married when gay marriage was legalised. California has since made same sex unions legal.

Townsend said: "I think she said 'nationwide'. I don't think she mentioned 'state'. I want everyone to know that was her thing.

"I do believe that if you love someone you should be able to get married, but it's got nothing to do with my life or her life. I love her. What more do you want? We are happy. Leave us alone!"
